sun bucks

For families currently receiving free or reduced-price lunch. If your child participates in this program, they are automatically eligible for Ohio’s Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT) program, also known as SUN Bucks. This program helps households purchase food during the summer months when school meals are not available. Eligible students will be enrolled automatically. You do not need to apply.

Families will receive $120 per eligible child in the household. These funds will be provided either
through your existing Ohio Direction Card or through a separate benefit card mailed to your
home. The funds can be used to buy groceries at participating stores, including grocery stores
and farmers markets. If you receive more than $120 per eligible child, please do not use the
extra benefits. Instead, call the Summer EBT hotline at 1-866-244-0071 (option 1) to report and
resolve the issue.

The benefits will be distributed by early July and must be used within 122 days of being
issued. If your address has changed this year, be sure to update it with your school district or
your benefit agency (such as SNAP, Medicaid, or OWF) to ensure your benefit card is sent to
the correct location. If you do not wish to participate in Summer EBT, simply cut up and discard
the card. Unused benefits will expire after 122 days.

In addition to Summer EBT, children under 18 in your household can also receive free meals
during the summer at designated meal sites, which Marr Cook Elementary, is an eligible location.
