Leta Whitley, a first grade teacher at Marr/Cook Elementary School, has been named a Master Teacher of Excellence by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, earning statewide recognition and a $1,000 grant to further educational creativity at her school.
The Foundation's mission is to foster the development of young people in Ohio's PK-12 public schools, to encourage creativity in teaching and to bring greater recognition to the teaching profession.
Whitley will be recognized at the Foundation's Annual Educator Awards Banquet in July in Cleveland, where she will join other outstanding educators from around Ohio.
