GMS is back at it! Mrs. Fine's class checked out her maker-space labs which they can utilize after finishing ELA class work. Mrs. Mirus, Ms. Whitley, and Mrs. Kelly's tribes strike a pose. Plus some other first week fun!











GMS students are having a blast being back at school! Mrs. Shelansky & Ms. Cheeks's classes did some team building towers. Ms. Rittners class extracted DNA from strawberries and learned about the scientific method! Can't wait to see what these teachers prepare for learning next week!

Ohio's annual sales tax holiday is now 10 days long, just in time for back-to-school shopping. A provision in Ohio's budget added more tax-free days to this year’s holiday, which now runs Tuesday, July 30 to Thursday, Aug. 8. According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, the sales tax waiver will cover all tangible personal property that is $500 or less, with some exceptions. GMS last day of school fun! The 8th grade had a grill out, 7th grade went to Castle Skateland, and 6th grade spent the afternoon outside! Fun was had by all!











The GMS fishing club had a very successful morning catching fish last week at Kathryn Stagge Park!











Mr. Walsh's class had a Periodic Table Battleship tournament today at GMS!



Today GMS students participated in some 6th grade field day events. We had the 1600m run, 100m dash, & long jump. Winners are pictured as well as in pictures with their gift cards from Sprinkles & Skyline!

GMS 8th grade students had their awards yesterday! So many students were recognized for their amazing accomplishments. (So many, there will be 2 posts!)
A few very prestigious awards were given out as well.
Emmy Latchford received the "Teke Tough" award.
Laura Bryant and Hunter Wilson received the, Peyton West "Heart of a Warrior" award.
Savannah Chun and Jackson McClain received the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship award.

GMS 6th graders had their awards ceremony yesterday and so many students thrived! We love seeing so many students showing Growth Mindset, Motivation, and Social Responsibility.
Special congratulations to Madi Shilts for receiving the "Teke Tough" award. It is given to a student who shows extreme perseverance in an adverse time- it is one of our most prestigious awards!











The GMS Hope Squad held a lemonade stand before school. Facility dog , Meg, was there to support with her lemon bandanna! Thank you Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Shelansky for your dedication to this group!
